From Here to Eternity

Eternity rings are probably best described as “for best” wedding rings. They’re commonly diamond rings with either a half-set of diamonds (half eternity) around the band or full set (full eternity) The loop (i.e. ring) is an ancient marker of eternity and symbol of endless love and commitment.

Half eternity rings are the most common option. The price of full eternity rings is perhaps what makes them less widespread in the jewellery market. Full eternity rings tend to need alteration, making their production costs a lot higher than those of a half eternity ring. We offer both full and half eternity rings; however, the current trend leans towards white gold diamond eternity rings with a half eternity setting.

When it comes to deciding when to invest in a diamond eternity ring, opinions vary. Some jewellers suggest a diamond eternity ring as a first anniversary gift, others say the birth of your first child is the time to spoil the lady. In all the years our staff have been helping couples choose the perfect eternity ring, they’ve heard it all – eternity rings to mark a date other than the wedding anniversary, to make the last child leaving home, to mark retirement or simply to say thanks for sticking around for what feels like an eternity!

Ruby weddings (40 years) are a common celebratory date whereby a long suffering wife is rewarded by her grateful husband for her years of care. We love the idea of gents who show their wives of one, ten, forty or even sixty years that they’re worth diamonds!
