Tricks For Removing Stubborn Engagement Rings

During your lifetime there will be times when your beautiful engagement rings become too tight or your wedding rings start to dig into your finger. There are many reasons for this, from weight gain or injury to illness but there are many ways that the ring can be loosened without damaging it.

If you don’t always take your engagement rings or wedding rings off you may find when you do come to remove them it’s not quite as easy to do as it used to be. Here are some great tips for easing stubborn rings off without damaging the engagement rings or resulting in a costly repair:

Tip 1 – wiggle the ring back and forth rather than trying to pull the ring straight off

Tip 2 – raise your hand above your head for a while which will reduce the blood flow to your hand and help to decrease the finger size

Tip 3 – immerse your hand in cold water which will automatically restrict the circulation. By keeping your hand wet it can be easier to remove the ring.

Tip 4 – water can be used as a lubricant to pull the ring off or, alternatively, use soap or body wash as a slippery substance

Tip 5 – take a minute to relax your hand before you attempt to pull the ring off. Tight muscles make it more difficult to remove

Tip 6 – If you have a couple of rings on one finger remove them one at a time if they are not soldered together

At Marlows we have a great range of diamond engagement rings and wedding rings.
