Keeping Your Engagement Rings Clean
When you have taken so much time and care to choose the diamond engagement rings of your dreams, it stands to reason that you would want to ensure that it stays as bright and sparkling as the first day you saw it.
It goes without saying that you should try to ensure that you don’t get the ring dirty at all. There are certain substances that should be avoided although you will never completely avoid collecting some dirt and grime from wearing the ring daily.
When using a substance that could damage the ring by getting stuck in the diamond’s setting or may cause the diamonds to dull, take the ring off. Substances to stay away from are flour, dirt, lotions, makeup, hairspray, soap, shampoo and sunscreen.
If you can remember this and remove the ring before a greasy or dirty material has contact with the diamond engagement rings, it will remain stunning for longer and you will need to clean it less often. When it does come to cleaning engagement rings, you may wonder how often is best.
For those with an active life, or if you have just been engaged and are showing the ring to people on a regular basis, you may opt to clean the ring every week or perhaps every couple of days. In all other circumstances cleaning once a month should be enough and the odd spruce up running up to a special occasion.
