Companions to a Diamond Engagement Ring
Undoubtedly, what accompanies an engagement ring best is a wedding ring,. Before diamond engagement rings became a almost non-negotiable item in Western wedding rituals, wedding rings were plain bands which were exchanged on the day of the wedding at the at the marriage ceremony by both bride and groom.
Today, the wedding ring is designed to match, or enhance the engagement ring and is often crafted with other precious stones and/or or diamonds.
Sometimes engagement rings can be bought in sets which include matching wedding bands for both bride and groom. The grooms rings often incorporate diamonds as well giving the groom an opportunity to own and wear a ring that is not only more valuable than a plain band, but more stylish too.
What Else Can I Wear with My Engagement Ring?
Lots and lots more diamonds or precious stones, be it in necklaces, rings, earrings, broaches or any other piece of jewellery . But this is not to say that all diamonds and all precious stones compliment each other. When wearing jewellery together, one should give some thought to their design and some thought to the metals from which they are crafted.
In other words, if your engagement ring is set in platinum, choose metals which will enhance it, or that will blend in. Team your engagement ring with other precious stones besides diamonds, or pieces crafted with a combination of both which can be breathtakingly beautiful.
Following a particular design of jewellery is as important today as it used to be, however, again some thought should be given to how each piece compliments each other.
