Choosing The Perfect Ring Guard – Part 2

Ring guards are a fabulous way of enhancing diamond engagement rings whilst protecting the diamonds, particularly if you have opted for a solitaire diamond setting. As well as ensuring that great care is taken with the ring to avoid abrasive materials, a ring guard can give you that added peace of mind that your pride and joy is protected.

You may be worried about the added cost of diamond ring guards. Diamond engagement rings are a significant investment for couples and if you think you want to use a ring guard, make sure you have factored it into your budget. The cost will depend on what types of precious metals are used, the complexity of the design and the carat weight of diamonds and other gems used.

If you want to put most of your budget into the diamonds on the engagement ring, you can choose gemstones rather than diamonds in the ring guard design or alternatively you can choose cubic zirconia. However if you can budget well, using diamonds in the ring guard makes a stunning piece of jewellery.

To wear a ring guard well it must fit snugly around the centre piece diamonds. However they should not fit too tightly causing damage to the original ring band. Most ring guards have the appearance of three single rings when against the original ring so you needn’t worry about which way to wear it.

At Marlows we are proud of our range of diamonds and diamond engagement rings and have ring guards if you choose them.
